More countries have sent messages of condolence and aid to China following the devastating earthquake in the country's southwest Sichuan Province on May 12, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.

Monacan Prince Albert II, Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmed al-Sabah, Austrian Prime Minister Alfred Gusenbauer and Lluis Maria de Puig, president of the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe, have recently expressed their condolences to China over the quake, the ministry said in a press release.

Meanwhile, the government of the United Arab Emirates has offered US$50 million in cash to China.

A new batch of 60 tons of aid materials worth over 6 million yuan (about US$857,142) from Russia have arrived in Chengdu.

The Monacan government has decided to provide 100,000 euros' (US$150,000) worth of emergency assistance to China through the World Health Organization. Monaco's Red Cross earlier offered assistance worth 50,000 euros (US$75,000) to China through the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Pakistan, which earlier provided 500 tents, has donated 10 million rupees (about US$170,000) and 1,000 tents to China.
