Donations to Quake-hit Areas Nears 40 Bln Yuan

As of Friday noon, donations from home and abroad to China's quake-hit regions had reached 39.9 billion yuan (about US$5.7 billion), up 2.6 billion yuan from the previous day, according to the State Council Information Office.

So far, close to 10.7 billion yuan, in cash and relief materials, had been forwarded to the earthquake-affected areas, the office said.
