Vietnam will provide Chinese earthquake victims with tents, food and medicines worth US$200,000 during the upcoming visit of Vietnamese top party leader to China, said Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem on Thursday.
At the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nong Duc Manh will leave for Beijing Friday to start an official visit.
Vietnam hopes to take this visit as an opportunity to show its deep sympathy for Chinese people for the huge human and property losses caused by the earthquake, said Pham.
Vietnam is "ready to send healthcare rescue teams to Sichuan," he added.
Vietnam has been offering support and assistance to victims of the recent strong earthquake in Southwest China's Sichuan Province. Vietnamese government made a donation of 200,000 dollars right after the earthquake.
