More Int'l Aid Arrives in Sichuan

The relief operation continues around the clock as international aid arrives day and night in the quake-stricken areas of Sichuan.

All the 1,900 tents donated by a charity organization in Germany arrived in Chengdu on Wednesday morning. Volunteers assisted with the efficient and well organized delivery. A few hours later the supplies had already reached those most in need.

Also on Wednesday, 6,000 tents donated by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees were shipped from Tianjin to Sichuan with simplified transportation procedures facilitating their delivery.

Meanwhile, water purifying machines donated by France and the US are now operating in quake-hit regions, such as Dujiangyan and Shifang.
