German Military to Provide 80 Tents to Quake hit Areas

The German armed forces, the Bundeswehr, on Wednesday announced a plan to provide 80 tents to China's earthquake-hit areas.

The Bundeswehr said that German Defense Minister Franz Josef Jung has instructed the military to make 80 tents along with associated hot air power generators ready for transport to China in early June.

The tents will be able to accommodate about 700 people.

Air China will take care of the transportation, the Bundeswehr said, adding that details are yet to be worked out by the German Defense Ministry and the Chinese Embassy in Berlin.
