Hospitals Nationwide Receive Sichuan Injured

Many of those injured in the quake have been transferred to nearby provinces and municipalities as well as to hospitals all over the country for further treatment.

This injured man was taken out of a train which arrived in Chongqing municipality on Tuesday afternoon.

As of Tuesday night, hospitals in Chongqing had received nearly 2,000 of the injured. And most of them are reportedly responding well to treatment.

The first special plane carrying the injured from Sichuan arrived at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport Tuesday afternoon. They were then taken to a Guangdong hospital.

Lin Shuguang, President of Guangdong Provincial Hospital said "We have arranged two special wards for the injured from Sichuan. One is for those with fractures and it has 36 beds. The other is an Intensive Care Unit with 15 beds. We also allocated advanced equipment worth over 7 million yuan."

1,000 hospital beds have been prepared around Guangdong province, and about 500 of the injured are expected to be transferred there.

Hospitals in southwestern Yunnan Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region are also standing by to receive injured people.
