The State Post Bureau of China and China Courier Service Corporation released a stamp featuring eight Chinese characters, which means "Combat the Earthquake, Unity is strength" on Tuesday.
Thirteen million of this special stamp will be released for disaster relief for the earthquake areas. The May 12 earthquake in southwest China's Sichuan Province has claimed over 34,000 lives, Web site eastday.com reported.
Each stamp has a face value of 1.2 yuan, as well as an attached donation of one yuan.
All the postage and donations raised from these stamps, namely 28.6 million yuan, will be used for relief work in the quake zone.
The State Post Bureau issued a set of stamps in 1996 marking the 20th anniversary of the Tangshan earthquake, which claimed more than 240,000 lives on July 28, 1976.
The set of stamps depict scenes of the newly built Tangshan City after the devastating quake in 1976.
