Students from the National University of Singapore have designed and built the country's first environment-friendly car, local media reported on Monday.
According to TV broadcaster Channel NewsAsia, the car, which costs 40,000 Singapore dollars (about US$27,000), is powered by hydrogen fuel cells and emits no carbon dioxide but only water.
The report said the car is made with lightweight materials such as aluminium and carbon fibre reinforced polymers and has aerodynamic features to help it move faster and further with lesser fuel, but adding that the car is not ready to be on the road yet.
