US Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman suggests the world should learn from and help each other in the global downturn in a session yesterday on "The Global Dimensions of China's Domestic Growth," at the 2009 Summer Davos held in Dalian. [china.org.cn by Guo Xiaohong]



He said all countries in the world should learn from each other and help each other to fight the crisis.

Also present at the session were the Mongolian Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy D.Zorigt, and Sarah Omotunde Alade, a deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The Annual Meeting of New Champions 2009 opened on Sept. 10 and concluded this afternoon in Dalian.

Profile of the World Economic Forum:

The WEF was founded in 1971 as an independent organization committed to improving the state of the world by helping form partnerships to shape global, regional and industrial agendas.

Business members and partners are at the heart of the WEF. Members include 1,000 of the world's foremost companies, encompassing regional market leaders and organizations shaping the future of their industries.

The small Swiss town of Davos hosts the annual WEF winter summit. The northeast China port of Dalian hosted the first, and is hosting the third annual meeting of the "Summer Davos." Tianjin hosted the second Summer Davos in 2008.
