Global business leaders and policy makers would gather in north China's port city Dalian from Thursday to Saturday to discuss ways to revive the world economic growth.

A total of 1,400 participates from 86 countries and regions would take part in the three-day Summer Davos 2009, also known as the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2009. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao is to deliver a speech at the opening ceremony Thursday.

The theme of the summit is "Relaunching growth".

Discussions at the summit will focus on five aspects -- opportunities in a green economy, driving economic growth through science and technology, addressing societal needs through innovation, new business models in a deleveraging world and rethinking Asia's development model.

The ways leading to the world's economic recovery had also been discussed at last week's meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of Group of 20 (G20) in London.

A communique issued at the end of the meeting said that the countries would continue to implement necessary financial support measures and expansionary monetary and fiscal policies, consistent with price stability and long-term fiscal sustainability until recovery is secured.

China will also be a focus at the Summer Davos forum, as the country's economy is in a crucial period of stabilization and recovery. Topics such as the future of the financial services in China will be discussed at the meeting.
