At least 25 aftershocks ranging from 5 to 6.9 magnitude have been registered after the 8.8-degrees earthquake that shook Chile early Saturday morning, media reports said.

Meanwhile, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center warned those countries and islands from Hawaii to Japan of possible tsunamis.

"Sea level readings confirm that a tsunami has been generated which could cause widespread damage," the Tsunami Warning Center said.

Tsunami warnings were issued over a wide area, including Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Antarctica, Australia, the US state of Hawaii and dozens of other Pacific islands after the earthquake struck 320 km southwest of Santiago. The earthquake struck 320 km southwest of Santiago at a depth of 59.4 km 3:34 AM (0634 GMT), according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).

The epicenter was only 115 km from Concepcion, Chile's second- largest city with a population of 200,000 people.

According to the last reports the massive earthquake killed at least 122 people and seriously damaged Chile's infrastructure.
