Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva voiced his confidence on Tuesday that the search teams will manage to find the bodies of the likely victims of the Air France Flight 447, which disappeared over the Atlantic Ocean in the early hours of Monday, local media reported.

Lula, who is on an official visit to Guatemala, has been informed by Brazil's Defense Minister Nelson Jobim of the latest developments of the issue, such as the fact that debris were spotted by Air Force planes on Tuesday.

Since the debris is collected and the likely plane crash site is determined, it will be possible to find out what can be done to rescue the bodies, said Lula.

The president assured that Brazil will do "the possible and the impossible" to locate the missing Airbus aircraft and retrieve the bodies.

The Brazilian Air Force maintained that it cannot be said yet that the spotted debris has anything to do with Flight 447's disappearance, saying the identification of the items will only be possible after they are collected from the ocean and analyzed by experts.

Brazil's Vice-President and acting President Jose Alencar traveled on Monday to Rio to meet with the relatives of the missing Flight 447 passengers.
