Geographical location:

An inland province along the middle reaches of the Yellow River and a gateway to northwest China, Shaanxi links the west with the east and connects the north with the south. It borders Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the provinces of Shanxi, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan and Gansu. The province has an area of 205,600 square kilometers. It measures 1,000 kilometers from north to south and 360 kilometers from west to east.
