Estonian Olympic Official: Beijing Olympics Wins Lots of 'Intangible Medals'

The deputy chief of the Estonian Olympic Committee has praised the huge success of the Beijing Olympics, saying the Games has won a lot of "intangible" medals.

Yuri Tamm, deputy chairman of the Estonian Olympic Committee and a member of parliament, made the remarks in a recent letter to Chinese ambassador to Estonia Huang Zhongpo, according to news from Tallinn.

The success of the Beijing Olympics was a perfect embodiment of the Olympic ideal of peace, friendship and progress and the Olympic spirit of "faster, higher and stronger," he said in the letter.

Tamm also praised the organization of the Beijing Olympics and added that the Games has promoted understanding among athletes, coaches and officials from different countries and regions.
