Mongolia's 2nd Gold Greeted with Joy at Home

Enkhbat Badar-Uugan from Mongolia won boxing gold medal in the men's bantam (54kg) final of the Beijing Olympic Games on Sunday.

This was the second gold of Mongolia from the Beijing Olympic Games and also the second from the Olympic Games.

The gold was greeted with joy in the downtown Ulan Bator on Sunday. Nearly 1,000 people had watched the final in the central road of the city. The vehicles stopped and the people cheered.

Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar also watched the final at a downtown restaurant.

The TV5 commentator said Badar-Uugan had made history of the boxing in Mongolia.

The TV9 commentator said the Beijing Olympic Games blessed Mongolia athletes and hoped the boxing of Mongolia will get more achievements.

Mongolian athletes obtained 29 qualifications of the Beijing Olympic Games. Two golds and two silvers were won from the game. This is the best achievement of the Mongolian athletes at the Olympic Games.
