Delfino, who left the Toronto Raptors to join BC Khimki of Russia next season, put Argentina into the game one-handedly as he scored Argentina's first 15 points in the fourth period to lead 71-68 with 3:30 left.
Vasileios Spanoulis missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer before Luis Scoal grabbed down the defensive rebound to hold the victory for Argentina.
Manu Ginobili, who had 24 points, scored Argentina's last four points, but missed a 3-pointer after Panagiotis Vasilopoulos' 3-pointer cut it short to 80-78 with 30.5 seconds left.
In a quite even matchup, Greece led 23-22 in the first quarter and 40-39 after the second before Argentina had the upper hand on 56-55 in three quarters.
Antonios Fotsis had 17 points and 10 rebounds for Greece.
Argentina will face the United States in the semi-finals on Friday.
