Chinese Wang Jiao Wins Women's 72kg Freestyle Wrestling Gold

Chinese wrestler Wang Jiao won host its first wrestling gold at the Beijing Olympic Games in the final of women's freestyle 72kg category on Sunday.

Wang used less than two minutes to defeat twice world champion Stanka Zlateva of Bulgaria with a victory by falling the opponent.

It is the 20-year-old Wang's second time to crown herself in the China Agricultural University Gymansium. She won title in last year's world junior championships.

Wang Jiao replaced teammate Wang Xu to compete in the Beijing Olympics. Wang Xu won China's first Olympic wrestling gold in Athens 2004 when women's wrestling made its Olympic debut.

Athens bronze medallist Kyoko Hamguchi, who lost to Wang Jiao in the semifinals, beat American Ali Bernand to get the bronze again.

Another bronze went to Agnieszka Wieszczek of Poland.
