All the qualifiers of the Olympic men's basketball quarterfinal round had settled after Saturday's matches, with only placing on stake in the final round of the preliminary phase on Monday.

In Group A, Lithuania and Argentina secured the No. 1 and No. 2 placing with Croatia and Australia vying for the third placing.

European champions Russia (1-3) have been wiped off from the contention of top eight as they lost to Croatia and Australia. They will play for honor against Argentina in the last match at the Beijing Olympic Games.

The story is the same in Group B as the United States, Spain have finished first and second, and Greece, China follows in order.

Germany (1-3) and Angola (0-4) are saw off after four matches.

The must-see game is the one between Greece and China as the winners will finish third in the group.
