French Newspaper Hails Good Manners of Chinese Olympic Audience

The Chinese audience have shown the world their refined manners by applauding for foreign and home athletes alike in the Olympic Venues, French daily Le Monde said in a report on Saturday.

The enthusiastic cheers by the Chinese spectators could be heard in each and every Olympic venue in recent days. They celebrate the Olympics like they do with a great festival, Le Monde said.

However ardent about the Games, they have demonstrated good manners, which made foreigners feel the Chinese people are filled with heartfelt innocent joy rather than blind nationalism.

The report highlighted several moments in which the Chinese audience cheered for foreign and domestic athletes alike even when the two sides were locked in hot competition.

Meanwhile, the Chinese media also focused more on sport itself instead of concentrating on the medal list, the French newspaper said.
