National Olympic Committee of Costa Rica (CON) said Thursday that it will get help from the Chinese government to perform a project of a sports medicine clinic and exchanges to train athletes and coaches.
The support was requested in Beijing by the CON president Roberto Verdecia to Chinese deputy head of the General Administration of Sport Feng Jianzhong, who promised the collaboration.
The meeting took place in Beijing for the participation of Costa Rica in the Olympic Games of Beijing 2008, according to CON.
The idea of a sports clinic has been projected by the CON since June, with the support of the National Counsel of Sports and the Costa Rican Box of the Social Security.
During the meeting with Feng, Verdecia also requested China collaboration on training.
"We will give you the help you need," Feng told Verdecia.
"Let's start the studies, I don't see any problem, we want to help, to train your coaches, your athletes, because you are our friends," Feng said.
Currently China collaborates with Costa Rican sports in the construction of a new national stadium that will be used to practice different sports.
