Thailand's leading sportswear manufacturer the Grand Sport has launched the national athletes' outfit, which has been specifically designed to represent the country's identity, for the Beijing Olympic Games.
According to a report of the Daily Xpress on Friday, the company applied the idea of Chalermkit Phokamas, an architecture student of Chulalongkorn University. He won the Young Designer contest for the concept "The Dream National Outfit", creating the various outfits the Thai athletes will don during the Games.
Chalermkit drew inspiration from the image of the athletes draped with the flag to create the design "Wrap of flag, Wrap of the win".
He subsequently designed the shirts with a dash of flag colors to symbolize the support of the people, which would make the athletes wearing the outfit feel like they are in a warm embrace.
