The visibility in downtown Beijing Thursday morning is expected to be suitable for watching the ground troops and aircraft fly-past of a military parade to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, according to local and military weather bureaus.
The quick-change weather of Beijing around mid-fall has made the parade's organizers scrupulously track every cloud floating overhead with multiple weather modification measures.
The city was shrouded in fog all day on Wednesday.
According to weather analysis based on Beijing's weather records over the past 40 years, the probability of rain Thursday morning is less than 20 percent.
