Chinese Embassy in Hanoi Holds Reception for National Day

Chinese Embassy in Vietnam held a reception for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China on Tuesday.

Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong and Vietnamese Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung attended the reception.
Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Sun Guoxiang said Chinese people have made great achievements in social and economic development in the past 60 years under the leadership of the Communist Party of China while delivering a speech at the reception.
China has become the world third largest economy, said Sun. In the first half this year, though hit hard by the global financial crisis, Chinese economy grew by 7.1 percent year-on-year thanks to the government's stimulus measures.

Nguyen Sinh Hung said in his speech that Vietnam-China friendly and cooperative relations have developed in a prosperous way in recent years with joint efforts from the two sides.
Vietnam would like to work together with China to advance the bilateral all-round strategic cooperative partnership for the benefits of the two peoples and make new contribution to the world and regional peace, cooperation and prosperity.
About 500 people attended the ceremony. The Chinese National Day is to fall on October 1.
