For soldiers from the People's Liberation Army, National Day is a chance to showcase countless hours of meticulous and absolute  precision training before a global audience.

Since the first anniversary of the founding of New China, the PLA military band has performed at every National Day celebration. But this year they will rewrite history with more than 1,500 musicians set to play in the PLA's biggest-ever military band.

They will be the first formation to enter Tiananmen Square.

Captain Liu Qian of PLA Military Orchestra, said, "All of our members have to stand for three hours, and play for two hours, non-stop. They adhere to strict appearances and standard postures."

The band will play more than 40 songs during the National Day parade and aim to provide a memorable soundtrack to this year's National Day.
