The Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist) has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Communist Party of China, the government of China and the Chinese people on the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
The Party said in its bi-monthly journal, "Lalkar", that throughout the past six decades, China had consistently stood on the side of oppressed people fighting for their liberation.
"The Chinese people have scored enormous achievements in rebuilding their country along socialist lines, so that what was, in 1949, one of the poorest, most backward and most wretched societies on earth, is now advancing as a great world power, increasingly in the front ranks of global economy, culture, science and technology," it said.
In the course of this process, the lives of the Chinese people have been improved immeasurably, with hundreds of millions of people lifted out of poverty, the article said.
The article also concluded that, in the past three decades, China had adopted a policy of widely introducing foreign capital, technology and expertise, allowing the reemergence and development of a domestic private sector, and producing for export.
