China Ready for National Day Events

As National Day approaches, people across the country are getting ready for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
In Xi'an, the capital of northwestern Shaanxi Province, China's national flag is a popular sight. People started stocking up about two weeks ahead of the country's National Day.
One shopper owner says sales are surpassing 100 flags every day. Badges related to National Day are also best-sellers.
Shop Owner, Xi'An, Shaanxi Province, said, "We've sold out all of the national flags that we ordered."
Over in central Henan Province, farmers are decorating themselves in the style of different crops and posing on the catwalk in celebration of the upcoming 60th anniversary.
Local Resident, said, Shangqiu, Henan Province, said, "It is to celebrate both our harvest this year, and the motherland's 60 birthday. It is a present for our country."
In northeastern Jilin Province, local residents have been busy conducting entertainment rehearsals for their local National Day festivities.
Rehearsal Performer, Baicheng, Jilin Province, said, "We specifically programmed the performance for the National Day celebration. We want to send our country the best wishes."
Finally, in Liaoning Province, frontier guards have placed a specially-made five-star decoration on the red shore of the Liaohe River estuary. The entire beach now looks like a gigantic national flag.
