This week, a graphic show opened in the city of Minsk, the capital of Belarus. The exhibition presents a chronicle of New China's accomplishments over 60 years of rapid growth and development.

An opening ceremony was held on Tuesday at the Friendship Home. In attendance were leading officials from the Chinese Embassy in Belarus as well as senior local cultural officials. The aptly named show,"Kaleidoscope of China", features nearly 60 photographs, and presents the everyday life of ordinary citizens as well as landmark events in the history of New China. Each image has meaningful significance and contemporary relevance and is intended to give people in Belarus an all-round view of contemporary China.

In his speech, Lu Guicheng, Chinese ambassador to Belarus, noted the remarkable achievements in all respects by the People's Republic of China since its founding in 1949. He said that these achievements attest to the promise of the Chinese nation.

The opening ceremony featured performances of patriotic songs staged by Chinese students in the Eastern European country. Through the music, they expressed their devotion and love for the motherland.
