In another unique effort to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, renowned singer Yan Weiwen released a set of six albums titled "The Motherland in My Heart". The recordings are the product of top Chinese musicians and producers.
It took Yan six years to accomplish all six albums. The collection includes folk songs from Xinjiang, Shanxi, and Yunnan. Most of them are love songs, and authentic new creations to express a deep love for new China.
Chinese maestros such as director Zhang Jigang, singer Peng Liyuan, lyricist Qiao Yu, and composer Xu Peidong contributed prefaces for the albums.
At the releasing ceremony, Yan Weiwen presented the music set to representatives of firemen, policemen, and soldiers, as well as students from a hope school in Shanxi Province.
Singer Yan Weiwen said, "New China was founded six decades ago. That's why I release six albums. As a singer, I think the best way to say my congratulations to the motherland is to sing."
Not only Yan, but other top Chinese singers like Song Zuying and Yin Xiumei are busy preparing for their National Day performances.
