China has prepared a group of professional mental health consultants for soldiers who will take part in the National Day parade on October 1 to help them cope with the rigorous training.

These professionals set up mental records, give mental tests and lectures and provide group and individual consultations for the parade members.

There are consultations specially focusing on soldiers who are injured, tired or criticised for unsatisfactory performances.

It is considered part of the normal life of hundreds of soldiers who are to take part in the military parade to stand straight and steady for an hour or not blink for 40 seconds.

For military vehicle drivers, they have to operate in a temperature as high as 60 degrees Celsius for hours of practice as air conditioners may affect the uniformity of vehicles.

As of now, more than 2,500 people have been tested for mental problems and individual consultations have been held for 1,300 members.

In addition, a mental health manual was specially compiled for the the soldiers.
