Vice Premier Attends Chorus Contest for National Day Celebrations

More than 4,000 officials and workers from China's central government departments joined a chorus contest Friday to mark the National Day with patriotic songs.

Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang attended the competition titled "Sing For Our Motherland".

China has planned massive celebrations for the 60th founding anniversary of the People's Republic, which falls on October 1. The celebrations in downtown Beijing will feature a mass pageant and a military review.

Also on Friday, the General Office of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued a collection of slogans for the celebrations.
