Taiwan Suffers Greatly from Morakot

Relief Work Underway in Typhoon-hit Kaohsiung, Taiwan
On Wednesday, member companies of the mainland-based Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) donated more than 100 million yuan (US$14.6 million) and HK$5 million (US$645,000) for the Chinese Taiwan island's typhoon relief. The Red Cross Society of the mainland also offered 15 million yuan (US$2.2 million) to the island's Red Cross organization.
