3 More Enterovirus Cases Reported in Macao

Three new enterovirus cases were confirmed here on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases to 266 so far, according to the city's Health Bureau.

These enterovirus cases comprise hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) and herpangina (mouth blisters), but none of the patients was in serious condition, the bureau said in a press statement.

Among the detected cases, 32 have been confirmed as EV71 (enterovirus 71) infections as of Tuesday.

In addition, most of the enterovirus patients were children enrolled in local creches and primary schools.
