People's China is a monthly magazine that aims to promote friendship and communication between China and Japan. It hopes to increase mutual understanding and trust by introducing Chinese civilization, culture, social changes, and economic and scientific development in the Japanese language. Readership includes Japanese politicians in Nagatacho, the seat of the Japanese government, as well as Japanese citizens from all social classes in Japanese society.
The magazine is part of the CIPG network and first came into publication in Japan under the care of Premier Zhou Enlai in 1953. In order to better serve readers and shorten the publication period, the magazine started to move operations to Japan in August, 2005.
