China, Japan Split Canoe/Kayak Golds

China and Japan each picked up three gold medals from the last day of the Asian Games canoe/kayak competitions on Friday.

Zhou Yu won the women's kayak single 500m gold, which was the hosts' 183rd and equaled the country's best gold record set in the 1990 Beijing Games.

China's Wang Feng and Yu Lamei wrapped up the kayak competitions by winning the women's kayak double 500m final.

Minutes before the double final, Feng Lanlan won the women's 68kg karate title as China surpassed the 1990 mark.

China's other gold was from Li Qiang, who triumphed in the men's canoe single 200m final.

The day opened with Japanese Momotaro Matsushita's victory in the men's kayak single 200m. He was followed by his compatriot Shinobu Kitamoto's win in the women's kayak 200m race.

Matsushita later paired with Keiji Mizumoto to win the kayak double 200m final.
