China won its 183rd gold medal on Friday at the Guangzhou Asian Games through Zhou Yu who triumphed in the women's kayak single 500m final, tying the country's all time Asian Games gold tally set by 20 years ago in Beijing.

Zhou clocked 1:48.912 to win the 500m race, beating Natalya Sergeyeva of Kazakhstan and Japanese Shinobu Kitamoto into second and third places.
