China Finishes 1st to Reach Men's 4x100m Relay Final

Hosts China finished first in the heat to make the men's 4x100 meters relay final at the Guangzhou Asiad here on Tuesday.

China clocked a season best 39.03 seconds, while Chinese Taipei was the second in 39.34. Thailand finished third in 39.57.

"We took the heat as a warm-up," said Lu Bing. "Our goal is to win the gold medal and we hope we can run in 39.00. Our best result was 38.81."

"The biggest rivals are Saudi Arabia and Chinese Taipei," Lu added.

Men's 100m winner Lao Yi also took part in the relay, but gave no comments after the heat.

The 4x100m final will be held on Friday.
