Local walking star Liu Hong lifted her second Asiad title from women's 20km race walking event here on Tuesday.
Japan's Masumi Fuchise and Liu's teammate Li Yanfei got the silver and bronze respectively.
Liu, who clocked a seasonal best 1:30:06 in the race, continued China's monopoly as the team pocketed all women's 20km race walking golds since the event entered the Asian Games in 1986.
Liu had proved herself as the top walker in Asia by winning 2006 Doha Asiad competition. She was also the bronze medalist at the 2009 Berlin Worlds.
"It's my second Asiad competition, and I feel wonderful," said the defending champion after the race. "Spectators supported me a lot."
"I'm satisfied with my performance today, because I walked my seasonal best record."
Liu experienced a tough race, with Masumi Fuchise keeping pressure on her in the first 16 kilometers. Liu established a decisive lead afterwards. Masumi Fuchise fought until the last minute, but was still a bit far away from threatening Liu's throne.
"I plan to have a rest after the competition," said Liu. "Then we will start our preparation for the 2011 Worlds and 2012 Olympics."
Li, who was three years younger than Liu, was also satisfied with herself.
"I had been training in Italy, and came back only half a month ago," said Li. "The experience abroad helped me a lot."
