Chinese President Meets WB Chief Robert Zoellick

Chinese President Hu Jintao met with Robert Zoellick, president of the World Bank, Tuesday afternoon.

Hu said China values the work the World Bank has done in poverty eradication and development.

"China will consider the international economic situation and its domestic situation and boost mutually-beneficial cooperation with the World Bank," Hu said.

He added China will continue to use the capital, knowledge and experience of the World Bank to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development in China.

Hu also said China hopes to work with the international community to strengthen dialogue and coordination on macro-economic policy.

He also said China hopes to build a fair, equal, inclusive and orderly international economic new order.

Zoellick said the World Bank will continue to cooperate with China to improve its economy and the Chinese people's living standards.
