South Korea's diplomatic source hinted that South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and US President Barack Obama will hold a summit in London on April 2, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency said on Tuesday.

It will be the first one-on-one summit between Lee and Obama since the inauguration of both presidents.

"The two sides agreed on holding the meeting shortly before the opening of the Group of 20 summit on April 2," the source was quoted as saying to the press.

"The United States is expected to hold bilateral summits there with South Korea and only a few other nations," added the source.

The meeting is expected to last 20 to 30 minutes, and the two presidents are to have broad discussions on a range of bilateral and global issues such as Afghanistan, according to the source.

"In the aftermath of their introductory meeting, President Lee plans to visit the United States in the middle of this year for another summit to discuss more issues in depth," the source said.

The South Korean president is also planning to have separate meetings with his Chinese and Canadian counterparts in London, the source added.
