The prime minister invited the children from Sichuan to visit Mongolia for rehabilitation when he met Chinese President Hu Jintao during a visit to China last year.

The students, aged 15 to 17, will study Mongolian culture and customs, go on sightseeing tours and play sports with local children.

The students are all from Qingchuan and Anxian, two of the worst-hit counties in last year's devastating earthquake.

"They have stood out among their peers for their good performances at school, as well as bravery and selflessness demonstrated in the quake," said Zou Mingyuan, head of the delegation.
