Another giant panda gave birth to twin cubs in southwest China's Sichuan Province on Wednesday, the second twin birth in four days in the province this year, keepers said on Thursday.
Five-year-old mother, Na Na, in the Bifeng Gorge giant panda base in Ya'an City, gave birth to the first baby panda at 4:53 AM and the second at 5:08 AM on Wednesday, said Huang Yan with the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center.
The twins -- one weighing about 90 grams and the other 130 grams -- were both male.
"The cubs show strength when sucking milk and are energetic. They are in good condition," said Li Guo, a keeper.
It was the first delivery for Na Na. Keepers are nursing the cubs due to the mother's lack of experience.
As the cubs were born on the day with a rare solar eclipse, keepers said they were thinking about names for them in memory of the special event.
On Sunday, a giant panda named Li Li at a breeding center in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan, produced twin female cubs, the first giant panda twin birth this year.
