22 Dead, 6 Missing in Rainstorms in East China City

Twenty-two persons were killed, six missing and 142 injured as rainstorms hit Jinan, capital of east China's Shandong Province on Wednesday, local government sources said on Thursday.
   
The city and its vicinity received a record of 180 mm of rainfall within three hours from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, the city's meteorological bureau said.
   
The rainstorm also cut off traffic, electricity and water supply for three hours, the government said.
   
There is no report on economic loss, number of affected residents and collapsed houses amid the rainfall.
