A heavy snowfall hit Hami of northwestern China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from Monday to Tuesday.

The No. 303 provincial highway has been blocked by the about half meter deep snow. Road management departments are busy removing the snow along their roads.

The local livestock industry was also hampered, the Xinhua News Agency said.
