China will reduce pollution
caused by railway by 10 percent by 2010, according to a
blueprint composed by the Ministry of Railway.
According to the 11th five-year railway environmental
protection plan, which set goals from 2006 to 2010 and kicks off
Wednesday formally, emission of sulfur dioxide in railway sector
will be limited to 41,818 tons in 2010.
Meanwhile, it plans to make green with plants along
30,000 kilometers of railway.
The ministry will strengthen inspection on
environmental protection in railway construction projects, speed up
