Eco Expo Asia, the first ever trade fair for
environmental protection in Hong Kong, will open in Hong
Kong next Friday, Hong Kong Trade Development Council said on
Wednesday.
Organized by Hong Kong Trade Development Council and
Messe Frankfurt, it will run until Oct. 30 at Asia World-Expo and
will open to the public on the Oct. 29.
Over 120 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions will
be taking part in Eco Expo Asia, with the majority of exhibitors
coming from Hong Kong. The show has also attracted exhibitors from
the Chinese Mainland and across Asia Pacific as well as places such
as Canada, Sweden, Germany, Poland, the UK and the United
States.
According to the organizer, the trade fair will be
divided into three main areas: Green World, Green Enterprise and
Green Living. These areas will concentrate on environmental systems
and technologies, environmentally friendly systems and products for
business operations and eco-friendly consumer products and
services. Air pollution solutions, recycling technology and organic
products are some examples of what can be seen across these three
main areas at the show.
One of the key attractions of the show will be the Eco
Expo Conference featuring experts from the field of environmental
protection. An advisory committee made up of academics and industry
experts carefully selected the speakers and the subject matter of
the conference.
The seminars for trade, which take place on Oct. 27
and 28, will address issues such as solutions to air pollution,
alternative energy, recycling, water and waste management. Topics
to be presented included "Strategies for air pollution control in
Hong Kong"; "Groundwater pollution for Chinese Mainland"; "Strategy
on waste management and recycling" and "Latest technology on used
oil recycling."
