Continuing Education for Technicians Fruitful

China's continuing education has trained technicians for more than 60 million person-times in the past eight years, according to a report revealed by Minister of Personnel on Saturday.

According to the report, personnel departments at all levels have organized more than 4,000 training courses for some 300,000 professionals throughout the country.

The ministry and its local subordinates have launched a campaign of continuing education in industries that require professional techniques during recent years, aiming to nurture and find high-quality and innovative professionals.

The Professional Knowledge Renewal Project, also known as the 653Project, has been carried out successfully after it was first launched in 2005, an official with the ministry told Xinhua.

The project has been aimed at offering continuing education to three million intermediate and advanced professionals in the fields of agriculture, manufacture, information technology, energy and management between 2005 and 2010.
