China and Kuwait issued a press communique on Tuesday, highlighting cooperation on trade, energy resources, education, and on tackling the financial crisis.
The communique said that both nations were satisfied with the current economic and trade cooperation, and they emphasized more cooperation on communication, telecommunication, and construction projects, and encouraged mutual investment.
In the communique the two countries said they would strengthen cooperation on education, culture, and sports to promote mutual understanding and friendship.
They also pledged to promote coordination and communication in international and regional organizations and push forward exchanges between China and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.
The communique says they exchanged views on the global financial crisis and its impact, and Kuwait praised China's constructive role in coping with the crisis.
The two sides also vowed to continue the long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation on energy resources, says the communique. China expressed appreciation for Kuwait's effort to safeguard the stability of the world energy market.
The two countries signed five agreements on education, infrastructure, sports, energy resources and environmental protection, said the communique.
The communique was issued during a visit to China by Kuwait Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah.
