China's Farm Futures Gain as Swine Flu Worry Wanes
Adjust font size:
Agricultural futures traded higher on Wednesday at the Dalian Commodity Exchange. Farm product supplies have dwindled on waning worries that swine flu might trim demand for livestock feed.
Experts says people won't catch swine flu from eating pork. This pushed up contract prices over one-and-a-half percent for soymeal futures and 2 percent soybean oil futures. Meanwhile, trading for non-ferrous metals at the market was also up. But many countries have already banned pork imports.
Analysts say consumers are still concerned about the disease, and this may trigger problems for some futures later.
