More employers in China offered annual bonus to their employees in 2009 as the country's economy saw solid recovery in the past year, a survey showed.
A salary survey carried by Zhilian Recruiting, one of China's leading online recruitment markets, revealed that 58 percent of the 5,428 surveyed employers offered year-end bonus, 12 percentage points higher than a year earlier.
Among the 6,000 surveyed employees, 58.6 percent said they received less than 5,000 yuan (about US$732) as bonus, while the average for non-management staff stood at 4,029 yuan, compared with 3,841 yuan in 2008.
Boosted by a raft of stimulus measures, China's economy expanded 8.7 percent in 2009, exceeding the government target of 8 percent growth after being hit by the worst global financial crisis in eight decades.
