Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao is to attend the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2009, also known as the Summer Davos, set down for September 10-12 in Dalian, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Qin Gang said Tuesday.

Wen will address the opening ceremony of the meeting, to be hosted by the Davos-based World Economic Forum, at the northeastern China sea port city, Qin said.

At the meeting, a reciprocal conference of the Davos Forum usually held during winter in the Swiss resort which gives its name to the forum, world political and economic leaders will discuss major economic and political issues.
